A few pictures from my last week at the ISC. February 8th.
I’ve finally arrived back on the Africa Mercy! Stepping back on ship on Saturday morning (15th) felt like coming back home. The familiar hum of activity, the welcoming smiles, and the sense of community was just how I remembered.
I departed the ISC in Texas on Thursday and traveled many hours with a layover in Pairs. Once we reached Antananarivo the capital of Madagascar, we spent a few short hours in a hotel recharging on some sleep before we took a short domestic flight to Toamasina. We all sat on the edge of our seats as we began our descent into Toamasina to catch a glimpse of the ship in port. The familiar sights, sounds and even smells was a reminder I was back in Madagascar.

After the journey here, I’m beyond grateful to be back and ready for what’s ahead.
This week has been full of excitement as well as hard and sweaty work. Meeting with day crew was a joy and am so grateful for the friendships that was created in the galley in my previous service. With a small team we have been hard at work each day setting up the Hope Center which is a land based center for all patients to stay pre and post operative. With the humidity in the 90s it has become a sweaty task each day, however with the joy of the Lord in our hearts the work becomes light.
I sincerely thank each of you for your prayers for traveling mercies. Am grateful for God’s protection and kindness through all the support.
